Game shows were as dead as TV Westerns when ABC took a chance, in the summer of 1999, with this British import and an overexposed TV personality who certainly didn't need the work. The show marked another notch in the dumbing down of TV games (when the contestant has to turn to the audience for help, you know you're in trouble). But would it have been such a campy delight without Regis's hokey theatrics and cornball zeal?
